On the East side of Madeira lies a really popular tour which offers dramatic mountain and forest views, as well as some of the best coastal views available on the island. From Funchal heading to the north side of the island we will pass through Ribeiro Frio, where we will be surrounded by beautiful evergreen mountains. After 30 minutes of walking (flat terrain), we will arrive to Balcões viewpoint in the middle of the valley where you will be able to see native birds flying around the highest peaks. Afterwards, we will do an off-road drive and visit one of the most emblematic towns in the island, Santana, known by its triangular shaped houses which served locals for centuries as dwellings and stables. From there, we will go to Santo da Serra, more specifically, Ribeira Primeira Park: a unique and sustainable project in the middle of the forest that provides a relaxing atmosphere. There you can also catch your own trout for lunch, (not included)

Typical Night, it is an unique dinner where we take you to a restaurant and you'll experience the typical dish of the Island. While you are eating a delicious meal at the same time you'll see live performances of a Folk Group from Madeira and Fado concert.

The menu of this excellent dinner is as follow: A glass of Madeira Wine as a starter, then you get the Bolo do Caco with garlic butter the traditional madeiran bread which goes along with the first plate Tomato or Caldo Verde soup. After, the main dish: the famous Espetada, the tasteful skewered beef in a stick, served together with french fries, vegetables, salad and fried maize, typical from Madeira. Afterwards, you get to chose the dessert where you can pick coffee mousse or fruit salad; then you get a coffee and a digestive Madeira Licour. To drink with the meals, you can choose red wine, white wine, beer, water and soda beverage.You can repeat the food and drink and the price will be the same.

Direct to Ponta do Sol, avoiding the crowds at Ribeira Brava, for the morning coffee stop and south coast views.
Old roads only the Land Rover can deal with, ascending through the rural areas of Ponta do Sol.

After a walk around the village of Porto Moniz, we head South through the village of Seixal (rock pools, swimming)
Through Sao Vicente and Serra de Agua (poncha)
And finally ending at the Cabo Girao glass bottom viewpoint

This is one for the hikers. 
Vereda do Areeiro is the path between the third highest peak on the island, Pico do Arieiro, and the highest peak, Pico Ruivo. 
Throughout the walk you can expect to see the high peaks of Madeira from various points of view, as well as many of the villages and valleys below.
The flora and fauna is unique to these peaks and you can expect to see different species of local birds, depending on the season.
Being higher up, every now and then we find ourselves above the clouds, quite a unique experience! 
From the high peak, Pico Ruivo, we can see a lot of the island, particularly the North side.
This is always a spectacular hike and a must do for any mountain/nature and Madeira lover!We end with a local poncha/coffee/tea stop

This is our therapeutic walk.
It´s very quiet and away from all the crowds....
This levada was constructed by the people from the villages of Porto Moniz and Ponta do Pargo to aid the "moinhos" or water mills situated on the walk.  
The ruins of these mills can still be distinguished along the wallk. 
Along the walk you can expect to find dense vegetation often very green.
Some may call it mystic, with many ferns and laurel trees.
There are many water springs and "water features" flowing out of the interesting rock formations. 
A resonably flat walk, this is a great levada for those who want to experience the forest, the fauna and flora and the water canals without stress.
On the way back we stop at the Lighthouse of Ponta do Pargo for the big cliff views of the south west.

The East 4x4 tour has a little bit of everything and is suitable for everyone!

The First stop is Pico Do Areiro, the 3rd highest peak on the island, 1811m above sea level.
There are usually very dramatic views and we tend to spend a fair amount of time up there.

After that, we venture to the North side of the island, into the more rural areas such as Ribeiro Frio and Faial where you can find hints of Laurissilva forest.

Next is Santana.
This is where you will find the traditional, authentic "A-Frame" houses you might have seen online or in guide books.

We will see lots of agricultural terraces, we will meet locals and we will have lunch at possibly the best restuarant view on the island,
