Ivo was a top-of-the-line guide, motivating us with his enthusiastic positivity despite the cold. He helped us don our suits when our hands became cold and numb (his must be acclimated!). He led the tour carefully, keeping everyone together while facilitating utmost enjoyment of the experience. The photos he took were GREAT and will be part of lifelong memories. I LOVED the experience, stayed in as long as I could, and greatly enjoyed the hot chocolate and cookies afterward as we warmed up. There were two men in our group who became lightheaded after exiting the water, and Ivo took great care of them, even fireman-carrying one so he could get him back to rest. Ivo rocks and this was one of my favorite experiences and memories in Iceland. Thank you! You have a great team there all around - all helpful and informative.

This is once in a lifetime experience. Few folks from our group got scared from cold but it wasn’t cold. If you get 2 pairs of socks on and you keep your hands out of the water ( they will teach you) you will not feel anything. There isn’t much to see but the experience is to swim between continents. Our tour guide was from Spain and he was very good and professional

Went snorkeling yesterday with my 3 kids (19-25). It was the first time for them, despite being Icelandic, and I had some reservations going at this time of year, mid autumn, but it turned out to be a blessing because this is the season of clear blue skies and sunny weather, making the light and visibility perfect. Our guide Kris was nothing short of amazing! Great preparation before the dive and good support for all the participants during the experience. We had drysuit and layers (provided by Arctic) so I never felt cold in the water, except my face and fingers. Fantastic activity.

Overall the tour isn't bad - the tour guides are awesome and helpful and snorkeling is cool, but I don't think this is worth the cost. The actual snorkeling time is less than 20 minutes and for the time it takes to get there, get all your gear on and get in the water, it's not really worth it if you have limited time visiting Iceland. Also, the water is very pretty but not super diverse. I think this is advertised cooler than it is.

Totally magical experience, with a wonderful team of fun, helpful, and experienced guides. This is a bucket list item that you don't even know is on your bucket list, because you're brain can't imagine something this cool! No snorkeling experience needed -- our guides were super helpful teaching us what to do and helping with gear, technique, etc. My partner had never been snorkeling before, and he had a blast. (Warning: Your hands and face -- especially lips -- will be SO COLD! Well worth it though)

Great experience. Takes a while to set up but it is all worth it and they make it easy to set up and all. Follow all directions they give you. Also wear tight clothing. My kids and wife went on a hike while I went on this trip. The timing is actually super accurate. It really takes 3 hours to the t all together. You don’t really need your phone or anything they have your name on record. They give you a bag to put your stuff in. The diving part is awesome! You do feel it at first in your face quite the cold feeling and hands. But 10 min in and you get used to it. No where else to do this so might as well do it. The water is just super clear. Also what is nice about Iceland is you get used to really nice sunny days or rain days. For me it happened to be no clouds but if it was raining would not have cared.

last minute, but when I showed up was told that we weren’t on the list and there wasn’t space. They are strict about 6 people per guide. However, they did find a way to make it work for us. Hence 4 starts instead of 5. Fonsi was our guide and provided first class service. He took extra time and care to make sure everyone in our group was outfitted properly and felt safe during the float. It was definitely a unique snorkeling experience. I highly recommend.

My husband and I did the snorkelling tour (wasn't listed here, hence my closing the diving category). Our guide was Fede and she was great. She made sure we felt safe and made the experience fun. She also took great photos. I would highly recommend this trip.

Although pretty cold, really impressive under water landscape due to the clear water. The tour was well organised and our guide Eule did a perfect job explaining everything and helping us with the snorkeling gear.

There’s nothing like snorkeling between two tectonic plates in glacial water. It was unbelievable and definitely a bucket list moment. Fonsi our instructor was amazing and took utmost care to explain the safety protocols, process, and suit us up accordingly. He was also kind, funny, and informative about the geologic and historical significance of the site. There were four of us in the group including my 13 year old son. Two of them were not known by us. Fonsi was great with my son and made sure he was safe and enjoyed the experience. One of the other tourers had never snorkeled before. She was lovely but quite nervous so Fonsi spent most of his time guiding her through the water which made it difficult for him to pay attention to others in the group at times. I was struggling towards the end and couldn’t communicate to him as he was further away. He did come to me however and helped me through the moment. When you’re under water you cannot see what is happening in front of you and above the water only what is under you.I feel this adventure should only be done if you have previous snorkeling experience and good swimming background. Overall a great experience and Fonsi made it worthwhile. I would recommend Arctic Adventures, but I think they should have stricter policies around who can and cannot do this adventure. If you’ve never snorkeled before don’t let snorkeling in glacial water with others unknown to you be the first experience!

This was my first dive after dry suit course (taken back at home, not with Arctic Adventures, as I prefer to got for vacation prepared). Everything was very well prepared. My guide Erminio was very kind, attentive, and helpful. He is a diving instructor so I got a few tips from him that allowed me to improve my dry suit diving :-) The dive was very nice, visibility amazing. I did not find Silfra walk challenging in any way. Please note this is a seesaw dive, often shallow. Good buoyancy is a must to enjoy the dive. Please note you may want to take more weight than you usually take for a fresh water dive.

We had a great dive with Arctic Adventures and our dive instructor Fonsi. Cold dive but there is nothing like it so highly recommend. Hot chocolate and cookies afterwards were great. Great experience.

Fonsi was a wonderful guide. The fissure is breathtaking and the experience of diving between tectonic plates cannot be matched.

Expect cool water and usually not sunny. The diving is great. The water is faboulus. If you don not have dry suit certifiate you can learn on Iceland (one extra diving day only). The guides are great, just make sure you are in time for the pick-up.

I have to say there is a lot of "getting ready" and waiting around on this trip, but Asier made it all very entertaining and he was patient and kind and the tour was pretty freakin' cool in the end! The water isn't cold at all once you're all suited up. Note to Arctic Adventures - you should have enough of the bug netting hats for all your guests - we ended up standing around with bugs flying in our mouths and eyes and swatting them for two hours .... again if it weren't for Asier I might have been complaining more and leaving a bad review, but he was really great and the experience was 100% worth it.

Great experience to snorkel in such clear water. We did not feel cold, because of the very good gear provided by Arctic Adventures

We had an amazing time snorkelling between the plates - the fissure is incredible and we even saw an Arctic Char! Our guide Mino was fantastic - really friendly and interesting guy, always felt in safe hands. It was also a lovely touch to get photos from the tour. It was cold, but not as cold as we thought it would be and well worth it in any case. The dry suits did their jobs and kept us dry. Thank you for a great experience!

We had a fabulous "dive"....actually swim in a dry suit in the fissure between the continents. Excellent instructor - from the Czech republic - very thorough but in a light-hearted way which suited the group and the holiday setting. Colours are spectacular.

The Silfra dive was the best experience I had in Iceland. The water is so pure that you can literally see forever. In mid-June my dive computer indicated a water temperature of 4ºC, making it the coldest dive I've ever been to, but not by much (easy to find 6-8ºC in German lakes also). The dry suit provided by Artic Adventures is more than adequate and I never felt cold during the 30 minute dive. The only part they should warn is that the dive profile is a serious yo-yo. After Silfra, we went to David's Crack, which was also amazing, and being free of the pesky snorkeller tourists makes it a proper dive site, and not a tourist attraction (pretty sure the snorkellers enjoyed seeing us below them). The visibility is not so clear as in Silfra, but still way better than most other fresh water lakes. Thanks you Arctic Adventures and to Chris for this amazing experience. I recommend to every diver to not just do the Silfra dive, but the full tectonic day tour. Now to dream about diving in the rest of Iceland...
