Two UNESCO World Heritage sites in one day only. Rila Monastery is the largest, the most beautiful and the most important Bulgarian monastery, Boyana Church is famous for its proto-Renaissance wall paintings from the 13th century.

An English-speaking guide will pick you up from the meeting point in Sofia at 9:00AM and, after about a 2-hours drive with various landscapes to admire along the way, you will reach the Serbian border.

After crossing the border you will go the nearby town of Bosilegrad (the former Yugoslavia's main state) before you cross back over the border with Bulgaria and head for Northern Macedonia.

After another short drive, you will arrive at the beautiful Monastery of Osogovo – an incredibly powerful place in the hills from the 12th Century, which was later turned into a mosque by the Ottomans, and then again converted into a church. This place is very scenic and peaceful - take time to go for a walk around the area. Afterwards, you will have lunch in a nice restaurant with good Macedonian grill (meat or fish) and Skopsko beer, of course.

It is situated in the Rila Mountains, and is the most visited location in Bulgaria and for a good reason. Plovdiv’s history spans 6,000 years, it’s the second biggest city in Bulgaria, it has traces of a Neolithic settlement dating to roughly 4000 BC.

The tour starts from your hotel. The first stop will be Boyana Church, situated in Sofia. Afterwards head toward Poganovo Monastery in Serbia.  After approximately two and a half hours transfer you reach your destination.There you will have the chance to enjoy the Holy Cloister and have a traditional Serbian lunch in the nearby restaurant. After lunch it is time for transfer back to Sofia. The tour ends at your hotel.

The history of Skopje starts with the settlements of the Thracians and the establishing the fortress of Scupi. During the two world wars will be eventually given to the Bulgarian country, before in the end to became part and a capital of the Macedonian Federation in the Yugoslavian socialistic republic. The city will start growing rapidly in economic and industrial way. Unfortunately a huge earthquake in 1963 has destroyed a huge part of the town, leaving more than 100 000 people without homes.
