Established in 1993 by a local fisherman , Mr Mataka (Babakasa - Father of the turtles ) to conserve the sea turtles population of Zanzibar.
The mission is to promote education among the fisherman about the deliberate capture of sea turtles , encouraging their safe and release when accidentally caught .In the natural pond, we rehabilitation and house injured turtles and raise baby turtles to increase their chance to survival . Each year on the 20th of February we release the turtles for our Annual sea turtles Release day.
