-The Poisonous Garden, a specialized garden, unique in the Canary Islands, which surprises with its more than 70 species of toxic and even deadly plants for the human being and that takes us into the dark world of the poisoners and poisons that were prepared from plants that are sometimes very familiar to us.
-The Sustainable Garden, made in collaboration with the University of La Laguna, was inspired by a typical Canarian ravine, and it shows us the characteristic flora of these environments, including specimens of the European eel in a watercourse that flows through the garden.
-The exhibition 'Colonizing Polynesia. Rapa Nui: extreme survival ', which aims to raising awareness of the achievements of a Polynesian society which for more than 1000 years developed a spectacular culture in the distant and small Rapa Nui, as well as transporting us to the Pacific Ocean, to discover how the Polynesians managed to colonize this immense space, literally against wind and tide.
We are open daily from 09:30 to 18:00 hrs.
Various ethnographic exhibitions, large garden areas and a leisure area with playground, cafeteria, craftwork shop, pic nic area, lockers, and guided visits on request complement the services. The park is completely adapted for people with reduced mobility. There is an audioguide service available at the reception desk.
The Botanical Garden & Ethnographic Park Pirámides de Güímar, nominated for the 2017 European Museum of the Year Award, is a large open-air museum that gathers several open-air routes and specialized gardens around six pyramidal structures oriented towards the sun on key astronomical dates.
The facilities of the Ethnographic Park, which covers more than 64,000m2, include the Casa Chacona Museum, the Auditorium and four outdoor routes (the Botanical Route, the Exportations Route, the Cultural Route and the Volcanic Route).
