Madrid’s Zoo and Aquarium, covering some 20 hectares, has a full-sized zoo with over 500 species from five continents. There are 6,000 animals to see, including curiosities such as the newly arrived Koala bears, and the Bengal or albino tigers, as well as new upgraded enclosures such as the gorilla area: Tierra de Gorilas. In addition, there is a large Aquarium specialising in tropical marine animals, with over 2 million litres of sea water and 200 species, including sharks and one of the most spectacular coral collections in Europe.
