Traditional Maramures

 

Enjoy Romania’s most traditional region! Visit the famous wooden churches of Barsana and Poienile Izei (UNESCO world heritage sites), the Museum of the Communist Resistance in Sighetu Marmatiei and the one-of- a-kind Merry Cemetery of Sapanta, where crosses are carved with anecdotes and jokes about the deceased. At lunch we will be spoiled with traditional, homemade dishes, specially cooked for us. The famous Maramures horinca (50+ degree plum brandy) is an absolute must.
