The Peles castle- summer residence belonging to the royal family of Romania, build in the 19th century by Carol the First. It is the most beautiful castle of Romania and maybe of Europe.The castle if build predominantly in a german renaissance manor. It has 160 rooms and 30 bathrooms.The main caracteristic of the castle is its detailed woodwork made by Bernhard Ludwig from Vienna .

A beautiful Orthodox monastery built in the 17th century

Stop At: Rasnov Citadel, Unirii Square no. 12, Rasnov 505400 Romania

Rasnov fortress build in the 13th century on top of a rocky hill creating the perfect vantage point over the surounding valley,reason why it was concured only once in 1611. The fortress had the roll to protect the villagers in chase of attacks. Here you will be able to see the ruins of a catholic chapel, the defence towers and also the ruins of the aprox 80 houses, the school and the water well that was dug by 2 prisoners and is 146 m deep.

Stop At: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Str. General Traian Mosoiu nr. 24, Bran 507025 Romania

The Bran castle will take you back to the 14th century when times where much simpler.Here we will encounter the gotic architecture of the castle. Build on a bolder in a valley having the roll to look over the border and protect the entrance into Transylvania.It was later connected, in 1897, to Dracula by the Irish writer Bram Stoker.

Tall walls, cold,robust towers, rooms surrounded in mistery offer the perfect ambience to take you back to the medieval times when the castle was patrolled by guards and where Dracula tortured thousands.

    We had an amazing day-trip with Traian, he was simply great. A very knowledgable guide with lots of information and the will and passion to share it. He had information about every single room in every castle and made the trip a lot more enjoyable. You can do the trip without a guide but you will be missing out on a lot of information. Peles castle was breathtaking, Cantacuzino castle was smaller then it looked from the outside but very nice and Bran was great. Very interesting to see the source of the Dracula legend. A great daytrip and a great guide.

    A great guy and a great guide. Traian was simply amazing on our 2 days. Very knowledgable always looking to improve your experience on my daytrip we even had an extra stop at the Cantacuzino castle which i highly recoomend, not as pretty or ornate as the Peles castle but i guess nothing can compare to that. All and all a lovely experience and all thanks to Traian and the effort he put in! Looking forward to seeing him again some day.

    We had an amazing day with Traian and would definitely recommend him to everyone coming to Brasov. He is a passionate guy and you can see from a mile he puts in the extra effort to make the tour the best it can be. We had an excellent experience at the 3 castles Traian madde sure we had all the information presenting every single room with fun and quirky facts. Peles is second to none, Bran was amazing and Rasnov was up there.

    I would like to thank Claudiu for the day and the ffort he put into it. He was puncutal,polite and he even contacted us a few days in advance to confirm the reservation, time and pickup location. We arrived in Brasov at night so we didn't get to see much on the way, but we were very lucky the day of the trip to have good weather and Claudiu made sure to stop at the best places to take pictures. The mountains where amazing! Peles castle was breathtaking and it's a shame it is not better advertised as for the Bran castle Claudiu made an effort to create an enjoyable experience with lots of vampire stories, it's Draculas castle after all. A great trip and a great guy!

    It was an amazing trip, the guide was punctual and the hotel pick up meant why didn't have to go to the extra hassle in the morning.The Peles castle was amazing and it's worth doing the full tour (all the floors). The guide was knowledgable and full of information and answered all of our questions. The Bran castle was nice but nothing compared to the Peles castle, I highly recommend a tour guide when doing the Bran castle tour as it can be a bit "dry" otherwise. The monastery was a nice bonus as well as the Rasnov fortress.

    From the moment I was picked up the guide was hostile towards me. He was upset that he called my out of country phone number the day before and couldn’t get a hold of me. He wanted to change the pickup time to 10 minutes earlier. My phone never rang and so I was unaware of the change in pickup time. As soon as he arrived at my hotel and I was notified that he was there I went out to get in the van. In total, I was 4 minutes late from the new departure time and 6 minutes early from the time I thought we were leaving. He made sure to point out that he called and when I said my phone never rang he said it rang every time he called. A weird start only to get weirder. I go to get into the van and I’m the last to be picked up which would normally mean everyone is situated and you just hop in to the remaining seat. Nope. The only seat left was in the back between two Italian guys. People had to move so I could get in. Thankfully the two Italian men moved so I wouldn’t have to be between them. We get to the first stop a monastery - that we aren’t allowed to go into. But you could go into a small church. After checking out the church we head back to the van to go to the next place. We are waiting for one of the Italian guys to use the bathroom and the guide comes back over to me to harass me again about not picking up his calls. He has his phone out and asks if the number on display is mine and I say yes. Then he shows how he called several times the day before. I said, I don’t doubt that you called, I’m just saying my phone never rang. I pull out my phone and show him that I haven’t had any missed calls. He is unhappy with this and then says he messaged me as well. I look in my messages and there was a message from him but I didn’t see it, it was even still marked as unread, because I didn’t see it. He says, see I tried to get into contact and he’s very gleeful that he has somehow proven me wrong. Regardless of how he tried to contact me, he waited until 8pm the night before to try to get ahold of me. I had this trip booked for weeks, so that’s strange. And all of this harassment for being a total of 4 minutes late. When you work in customer service treating customers poorly isn’t your best business move. The rest of the trip, he didn’t say anything to me. His tour was for the two couples not for me or the Italian men. And he was even rude to one of the women. Twice when she asked a question his responses were rude and condescending. He for some reason was trying to make her feel stupid. She had some incorrect information and he was more than happy to point how she was wrong. The same thing he did to me about the calls. The final stop was Rasnov Fortress that has been closed since 2019. Why would we be taken to a place that we cannot even go into? Oh I know, it was so we could all pay 7 lei to take a tractor ride up there when we could have just walked. We were not given that option. It was a very uncomfortable, long day that should have been fun and interesting. Instead I was left feeling shocked that he would try to pick a fight with me over 4 minutes. All in all, I would not recommend this tour or the tour guide Claudiu. There are better tours with nicer tour guides in Brasov. Just pick a different one.

    It was a brilliant tour and if you like castles, should not be missed. Everything was smoothly organized and the tour allowed us to skip the lines during a very busy weekend. They were also very prompt in organising our pickup despite late booking. There are some reviews out there that suggest skipping the top floors of the Peles castle - don't listen to them; seeing the small furnished apartments gives great insight in what life at the castle was like. Claudiu was a great guide, full of information, happy to answer questions and careful to keep track of us all in the crowds. If we come back we would definitely get in touch with the operator for other tours in the region. Viator posting should however be updated to make ticket prices more transparent (it was 150 lei for all floors at Peles, 45 for Bran castle and 7 to get up to Rasnov fortress). There is an ATM, but it's better to bring cash if you are wary of fees. All in all, we really enjoyed it.

    Traian is a well informed tour guide, we were curious about everything he said. He offered us interesting information about every place we visited. We had good weather and the drive went smoothly with Traian since he is a good driver and has a good sense of humor.

    The guide, Claudiu is very good and explained all the relevant information very well. I am extremely happy with the tour operator, Discovery Translvania. It is cheaper for solo passengers to book directly with tour operator.

    The places visited were nice, unfortunately the guide,Claudiu Bichea, ruined the day. I have travelled the world and I have taken many, many tours. I met all kind of guides but, never a person as arrogant as Claudu Bichea. He feels he is superior and makes you feel it, He lacks people skills. So, the places visited are nice and worth it, just make sure Claudiu is not your guide

    Brilliant way to see the sights! Really happy we chose this company as the tour guide Claudiu had a lot of information about Romania on the way to each site, whilst at each of the sites gave us our own guided tour and was very friendly and helpful with reccomendations of other things to see also. Each of the sites were amazing and the car was very comfortable. Very well organised and would highly reccomend to solo travellers also. Thank you Claudiu and team!

    Claudiu was the perfect tour guide, knew a lot about not just each place we visited but the general history and context of the areas we visited and was very friendly. He gave some food recommendations for lunch and allowed us time to stop for pictures when we wanted. the castles are beautiful Pele's castle was my favorite, unlike Bran, almost everything in there was original. Bran was all replicas and halloween decorations for vampire lovers, I preferred exploring the surrounding town and shops during our lunch break than Bran itself. Unfortunately, Rasnov fortress is under restoration so you can only walk around the outside but you get some incredible views of foggy forest covered mountains and a quaint, red roofed village. Over all, great tour, definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quick and convenient way to see the top highlights of Brasov in one day and maybe you'll get lucky and end up with Claudiu (though I'm sure all the guides are good!)

    We had a great day at Peles, Bran and Rasnov (under renovation). Traian is a passionate guide with good historical knowledge which makes the tours interesting. As historians, we appreciated that and learned a lot about Romania. He is considerate and caring. His car is comfortable. We decided to do other tours with him: Rupea, Viscri and Sighisoara (Unesco sites, great and unmissable), and another tailor-made day in Sibiu and surroundings (Fagaras, Cârta, Rasinari, Cisnadioara, Brancovan monastery). Traian is open to proposals and adapts to our areas of interest. We recommend our guide without hesitation. François and Isabelle (on tour 11-12-13 August) > Traian, we wish you all the best!

    Excellent service and attention on our tour. Claudiu was fantastic looked after us really well. Loved how he tailored the tour to suit our specific requests. We also used his company for tour to Peles on the way to Bucharest. Also did the wild bear tour which we would highly recommend.

    I totally recommend this tour. Claudiu Is an outstanding guide, he is dedicated, friendly, knowledgeable and is always looking for the well-being and best experience for his guests on the tour. The amount of Romanian history and details he points out on the tour is far beyond what I expected. I booked my trip pretty last minute even so he was great in getting in touch and coordinating pick-up, the vehicle could not be more comfortable and cleaner, the trip is 100% according to the details of the listing, upfront of all visits we were informed of what was included and what not and the different options we had (like an optional elevator at Bran Castle or extra floor levels at Peles). The details he points out at the locations make even other visitors stop to listen as he is also very passionate about the history of his land and their monuments which makes it pretty fascinating. Also, skip the line was very much appreciated as I visited in august with huge queues and scorching heat. I strongly recommend to anyone visiting Transylvania and the Brasov area.

    Claudiu was a fantastic tour guide. He promptly picked us up in front of our accommodations in Brasov and reiterated what was and was not included in the tour. This confirmed the information on the Viator listing, which we appreciated greatly. From there, we had a lovely drive to Peles Castle and he immediately began informing us on the history of Romania and the region. At Peles Castle we were amazed by his knowledge of even the smallest details - like the doorframes of the bedrooms upstairs! The rest of the tour was much the same. Claudiu even shared (via email) drone footage of the sites that we visited that day. A+, 5 stars, would tour again! One thing to note: the inside of Rasnov Fortress is closed due to ongoing renovations. We were able to visit the courtyard and Claudiu was able to provide a wealth of information to still make it a worthwhile stop.

    We feel cheated by your office. We booked the day trip to the castles around Brasov on the eve of the tour which took place on 4/8/2022. On your website, in a section where you describe in big bold letters what is included in the daily price, you have put the tickets for the entrance to the castles, lunch and Gratuities with uncheck. We believe that this is a misleading product promotion policy. In our haste to book seats for the excursion, we did not notice that in the "What's Included" section you also included what is not included in the price of the excursion. It is also characteristic that our other fellow travelers did not understand this and some did not have any money with them to pay the entrance fee. Specifically, they were lent by our tour guides. We ask to refund us the money we gave (2 people) for our entrance to the castles.

    Peles Castle was the most magnificent castle I have ever seen! It alone made the trip well worthwhile. Out guide, Traían, was very punctual, well organised and a walking encyclopaedia of knowledge

    A group of six did a tour to the castles from Brasov. Traian was prompt and courteous. He had extensive knowledge of the areas we toured. No waits in line for the castles. Our lunch went much longer than expected and he never rushed us to hurry up, we took our time. The locations we visited were beautiful and I would highly recommend doing a tour with him to any location in Romania for a first class experience.
