Paiva Walkways and Aveiro

 

Let’s meet the romantic city of Aveiro – the so called “Portuguese Venice” and walk along a stunning Paiva Walkways! 

The Paiva Walkways is an 8 km boardwalk through ruggedly beautiful scenery in Arouca Geopark. Zig-zagging down rocky hillsides, hugging cliff faces and winding along the left bank of the Paiva River, the Paiva Walkaways were the winner of the World Travel Awards 2016, 2017 and 2018. Arouca Geopark is a UNESCO Geological Heritage site. 

Aveiro is also the city of Art Nouveau. With its singular beauty, Aveiro is located by the ocean and has always been linked to the sea trade, fishing and salt production. The canals and the traditional boats called “moliceiros”, fulfill the city with a unique and colorful splendor. Aveiro is charm!
