Center of the Island - Fire Lake, Thermal Pool, Pineapple and Tea Plantation

 

A unique overlook over the center of island.

We will go up the tallest volcano, only accessible by car, so tall you will watch the vegetation get drier on the way. At the top gaze at the best view over its stunning caldera and lake. We are standing really high, so as sunnier it is the day the clearer will be the views.

On the north slope, you will have a access to the most tropical thermal pool in the island (entrance fee included). The pool is supplied by a warm water waterfall, surrounded by luxurious vegetation and the chants of birds. Afterwards we will find the tea plantation on the bottom of the slope, lines of green tea overlooking the ocean. Here you can taste the most amazing Azorean green tea, handpicked and traditionally crafted. We will head to the south slope and visit the oldest village on the island, and learn about it´s stone church and rock islet. If you tasted the tea we must end this experience with the king of the island, the most delicious pineapple in the world!
