There are two paths to do this hike:
1) From Pico Do Arieiro To Pico Ruivo To Achada Do Teixeira (8 km = 4:30 hours in total). Level: Medium-Hard. Available from Monday to Saturday.
2) From Pico Do Arieiro To Pico Ruivo and back to Pico Do Arieiro (10.6 km = 7 hours in total). Level: Hard. Available on Sundays.
Is the service a guided tour?
No, all our services are transfers. You will have the freedom to enjoy the hike in your own rhythm without having to follow anyone and make stops whenever you want.
Is it safe to do the hike without any guide?
Yes, it is safe. You must be careful but:
1) There are clear signs all over the trail.
2) Travelers with rented cars do this hike without a guide.
3) You can hike with the other travelers of the transfer.
