We will visit the most ancient Thermal Hospital of the World. Inside we are going to have a look to the “Pool of the Queen” where D. Leonor a Portuguese Queen and founder of the city bathed.
Next to the Thermal Hospital is the simple but artistically rich Nossa Senhora do Pópulo Church, one of the first examples of "Manueline" a Portuguese unique architecture style.
After we enter at the romantic D. Carlos I Park. We will discover the most important phases of the city’s history, from its foundation, to the urban renewal by the hand of king D. João V.
We will speak about the golden age of the 19th century, during which the Caldas da Rainha became one of the most important cities in Portugal.
