Bergen Itinerary
No other tour in Bergen has experienced similar growth in either online sales or number of reviews from the travelers that have done the tour before you. The Veafjord is completely "under the radar" for the large crowds, and has, as a result, become a winner for travelers seeking the nature that Norway is so very well known for.
Your private, customized excursion combines the thrill of a mid-sized fast RIB boat ride with the breathtaking views of the Fjords north of Bergen. Chose from a half or full-day tour, (see options) that starts from Bergen City Centre with mixed-mode of travel between private car, Rib Boat and Train. This way you get the best from each way of sightseeing the Fjords - all in a compact tour that really "has it all".
The price includes a free of charge hotel or port pick up, a private guided tour in a RIB Boat and train tickets so you don't have to worry about anything but enjoying your stay. This tour is the perfect way for cruise passengers to spend their day instead of being among the crowd that swarms the wharf shortly after their ship docks. Moreover, by choosing the half-day option, you are back in the city center to enjoy the highlights there when there isn't so much hassle in seeing the highlights that the rest of the crowd now is finished with.
Rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RIB) are often used by first responders and Navy SEALS because of their safety, maneuverability, and lightness resulting in potential high speeds. This is the ultimate way to venture the less explored Fjords areas with that breathtaking scenery your online picture search has shown you. Even we have great speeds available, we adjust to the comfort level of each Group. The boats have a maximum capacity of 11 passengers, but to optimize your comfort, we never take more than five / six on board. In other words - you are having the business class experience on the Fjord.
Safety & Comfort All passengers are equipped with a wireless receiver that ensures that your Guide is heard at all times. You will also receive a full thermal suit that is designed for the Fjords and who has a built-in Life Jacket. As a double safety measurement - you will additionally have a secondary Life Jacket that automatically inflates in the unlikely event that you will be in contact with water.
Please note: The minimum age is 5 and each child must be with a grown-up while on this tour to ensure maximum safety on board. Adult pricing applies to all travelers.
Groups with children: All our guides are great with children and are at an age where they are experienced with their own from infants to adolescents. Children will be given responsibility under this tour and if deemed fit for the task, be allowed to steer the boat, or be given tasks as to moor the boat and so on. It is important that parents are instructing their young ones that while on a boat there is only one person in charge: The Pilot / Captain. This way we keep safety in focus all the time and children are active participants.

What an AMAZING tour. This trip alone made our euro trip. It is a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget. VERY worth the price. Bjorn is an amazing tour guide and he makes sure you have everything you need at all times. If you love the show Vikings you need to take this tour! Views: 5/5 (will blow you away) Tour guide 5/5 Transportation 4/5 (our train on the way back was under repair but Bjorn got us bus tickets and dropped us to the terminal!) (Bjorn will pay for accommodations back to Bergen and to the tour at the beginning of the day) Food: Bjorn got us amazing fresh Salmon and traditional Viking food of pickled herrings I will recommend all my friends and family to come to Bergen for this tour and am planning on doing it again with a few friends next year. Thanks Bjorn! -

The fjord cruise was a lot of fun. The tour guide Bjorn was very interesting to listen to. He told us all about the area and we learned a lot. The fjords were beautiful. We would recommend this company if you are planning a trip to Bergen -

This has to be one of the best private tours that I have done in years. My husband and I took a tour with Bjorn who grew up in this area. Having a local's take on multiple areas within the fijord explaining the culture of living in the fjords is something you cannot capture anywhere else. In the aftermath of COVID, it's nice to have a private experience but also reconnect with new people. He was kind, funny, and very knowledgeable. He has a few surprises up his sleeve for you, which I won't reveal (you just have to go and see it for yourself). He was incredibly on top of it by messaging me the night before with directions, provided me information for our driver (who, Hanna, was phenomenal), and tickets for the train back. It indeed was a marvelous adventure and the highlight of my Norway trip. -

Booked this trip with a 50% deposit in January. Due to the pandemic, we are not trying to cancel but move the tour to 2021 when we rebooked our cruise. Been trying to reach Bjorn and company for almost 6 weeks and no response - left messages, emails, et cetera. The US Phone number has been disconnected, email response is non-existent. I always book private tours with only reputable tour groups - not sure what is going on but I am out a considerable sum for a 6 person party. Buyer beware - they may have been a good reputable company but to not even respond in months is unacceptable and buyer beware! -

I booked in February for myself and my son, and at A$1200, it was the most expensive part of our trip to Norway. I immediately paid and received an email, and when I emailed a question, that was quickly replied too. However due to travel restrictions leaving Australia, we are now not able to complete our trip. As part of the terms and conditions states a full refund will be given, I emailed on 22/4 letting them know that we would not make it. When I heard nothing back I assumed they were busy at this unique time. I have now sent 6 emails and 2 WhatsApp messages, which have been read, and have heard nothing back. I am now at a loss as to how I receive my refund. The website is still live and taking bookings for the date we would have traveled. I did let the owner know that I would be using Trip Advisor as a way to communicate hoping it may give him the opportunity to finally reply. Not only am I disappointed that I can no longer go, I did want to rebook thus tour at a later day but now have lost all confidence with this company. I have screenshots/ copies of all emails if the company believes I am wrong. -

Just one 1 hour from Bergen, it's a very good way to discover both the fjords and its landscapes as well as the history and culture of Norway. -

They cancelled our cruise this afternoon after planning a 3 week vacation around it. Our disappointment is beyond disbelief. I believe this is a scam! Good luck! -

We fulfilled a dream of seeing the fjords on a delightful excursion with Bjorn. Our trip began with personable and kind Mario picking us up at our hotel. He made sure we had a rest stop along the way. Tour guide Bjorn was waiting for us at the docking area and helped us get into our protective overalls. The fjords are breathtakingly beautiful and Bjorn’s history and ecology commentary was very informative and amusing. The weather varied, giving us a true Norwegian experience; we were well protected in our thermal overalls. We highly recommend this personal tour! -

We took the full day tour and really enjoyed every single bit of our trip, starting from the pickup at our hotel to the train back. Björn is a great guy, however with no sense of humor, just kidding :-). He really is a great guide and very genuine. We also really enjoyed our lunch with local specialties and some special dishes made for us. We really recommend this way of exploring the beautiful fjords. Not cheap but quality costs money. Great experience! -

What a wonderful ride. The scenery is breathtaking. It’s absolutely worth doing this if you can. They make it really easy - pick you up in Bergen and drop you back. Bjorn is so pleasant and the stories he tells of each stop is great. Not the usual tourist prattle. Would definitely go again if I ever got the chance. -

To provide a full and honest review... we had a bit of a shaky start during the booking process, but actually for all the right reasons. I've contacted them with some questions and had challenges receiving responses and was close to jump off and look for another provider. Lucky I did not and reached out for a last time to which Bjorn responded and followed up within a heartbeat. He was very open and honest that he became victim of his own success, being overwhelmed with the requests and at the same time give the full and all attention to the tour he's guiding. I absolutely agree with him as I wouldn't have wanted that my guide will be constantly on the phone during our tour in order to organize some else bookings. Kudos to Bjorn for an amazing recovery! He actually followed this comment up after our tour and mentioned that they will hire an additional person to look after the bookings, so I would expect this to improve in the future. And if not... trust me... it's worthwhile the wait and struggle! Bjorn provided us beforehand with some very helpful tips and routes, way beyond what he would be expected or being paid for. We met him at the pier in the Fjord as we've been traveling with a camper van and therefore didn't have to do the tour out of Bergen. Also an advise he gave us in order to make the experience better. I was initially thinking about the half day tour but I am happy that I decided to take the full day tour. Bjorn never pushed for it, never a hard sale... always focused on what fits best our schedule. Therefore my recommendation, take the full day tour, absolutely worth it! Without giving away too much, it was an amazing experience and while the scenery certainly supported this, it was Bjorn who made this so extra special. Great personality with amazing stories to tell. Some of them might be a bit controversial, but that makes his character! We could watch him arguing with a restaurant staff about their lack of service spirit and at the same time improvised that hiccup with such a charm that it was a pleasure to watch and experience. Initially the weather was stunning with sunshine and flat water, but later we got hit with a couple of rain showers. Bjorn just managed this so well to provide cover under a bridge or in a small hut that it actually added to the experience. Overall, it is for sure not a cheap experience, but worthwhile every cent! Especially when you are standing with Bjorn on the Zodiac and waving at a fully packed FjordTour Mass tourism boat that starts turning around at the point where the real beauty and experience of the Fjords are starting! Bucket list potential! Highly recommended! -

We took Zodiac boat trip with Bjorn with our 5yr old daughter. Bjorn is from the area and has excellent local knowledge. Trip was amazing. We saw beautiful fjords and learned a lot. Our daughter also loved the trip. Bjorn was great with keeping her entertained on an almost 3hr boat trip 😊 -

We loved our fjord tour with our group of 6. Bjorn was so much fun and our driver Robert was great too. Everything was taken care of for us. We had a foggy day and the fjords were beautiful! Would go again -

My family and I took the 1/2 day morning fjord experience, and it was absolutely amazing! To start, Robert, our driver, picked us all up promptly in the morning at our lodge. He was an absolute pleasure to talk to and made the drive so much more enjoyable and fun! Bjorn, our guide on the boat, was funny and knowledgeable, stopping at numerous unique locations along the fjords, briefing us on Norwegian history, and taking many pictures for us, too! They also cared very much about our safety the entire time, so I would recommend for younger groups also. Definitely worth it!! -

It felt as if Bjorn was just a super funny guy with loads of knowledge who your friend asked you to "take em out on the water" one day. He said sure ... let's go. All jokes aside. He made some decisions (we had a bit of mix-up) that were beyond what he really needed to do. He is motivated by perfection and mutual respect. Those people are too rare. We're glad he was part of our vacation. -

We've had a fantastic day with Bjorn in the fjords. The Norwegian fjords are one of the most beautiful landscapes we've ever seen. Breathtaking waterfalls, idyllic Norwegian cottages, salmon fish and the astonishing nature, nothing was missing during our tour. As a guide Bjorn knows everything, he tells interesting stories, appreciates personality and provides a good dose of humour. During our 2-hour during trip we hardly met someone else. The peace and privacy was of high value to us. We highly recommend this trip and its definitely a must when visiting Bergen. -

I came with my boyfriend in May, I had done plenty of research online as to which company and which tour would be the best. SO grateful to have found Bjorn, even though he was booked for the day, he managed to carve out time to give us an amazing private tour. Hands down this was our favorite day in Northern Europe . He is fantastic! We were picked up from our hotel in a nice car, and because the waters were a bit rough, driven about 45 mins to meet the boat. 1/2 way through the tour we stopped in an idilic little town, and magically the car was there to meet us delivering a picnic, and a bottle of wine :) This is not the hoards of tourists standard Fjord trip, it is truly something special. If you can make it happen you will not be sorry. -

First, I have to thank Bjorn for being so clear since the first time we talk: this is expensive but 100% worths the cost. Bjorn was totally right: My family will never forget the journey at the Fjords, with the speed motorboat...totally alone...no other boats, no cruises....just US and Bjorn as a fantastic guide. Of course, Fjords excursion was great, and also great was the visit to Flam, the train, the drive to Oslo, the stops for cheese! I will recommend 100% and I am just dreaming when we can come back again. Thanks Bjorn, Hannah and team, you are great! -

Had a wonderful day with Bjorn. I’d struggled to find a bespoke tour as it seems most visitors are herded down the “ in a nutshell” options- nothing against them I’m sure they’re great but we were just looking for a less crowded, more off the beaten track experience. It was exactly that. The fjords really don’t disappoint and are as stunning as I’d hoped - but just as great was the insight we gained by having a local guide- we learned a lot about the country and the interesting stuff too- not just out of the guidebook! Our 2 teen girls loved it too and were allowed to steer the boat which they thought was great. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? For us, absolutely! -

summer in norway can be cold, rainy, but nature is not disneyland so we accepted and enjoyed whatever mother nature offered us :). the best part of the journey is the lack of human traffic, bergen area fjords can get overcrowded but here one can enjoy the solitude and pristine nature and drink water full of minerals straight from the waterfall. sad the weather did not allow us to take good shots but happy that the crew will share some moments of his lifetime filmmaking the beauty of his nature. Thanks for everything! -

Today we spent a spectacular day with Hannah, our wonderful guide, on the Fjords of Bergen. This was a special trip for our family and we wanted to include a memorable experience that ended up feeling like a once-in-a-lifetime moment! We enjoyed a beautiful ride to/from our boat excursion, had a amazing lunch and relaxed as we zipped throughout the waterways of Norway. This private boat experience included learning about the history of the area and lifestyle of Norwegians too! The small villages, waterfalls and breathtaking views did not disappoint. Worth the money with great customer service and friendly engagement by our hosts! Thanks Hannah and Bjorn! You made our Norway trip unforgettable:)
