The Zaanse Schans is a neighbourhood in Zaandam and is a well-known outdoor attraction. It's not really a museum, but it is designed to preserve the historical heritage. The houses at the Zaanse Schans are occupied by residents. Apart from the mills to the public, a shipyard, a wooden shoe factory, a bakery museum and a replica of the 1st Albert Heijn visit. In addition to the Zaanse Schans is the Zaans Museum.
