The Netherlands is known for a flat landscape of tree lined canals, tulip fields, windmills and cycling routes. Despite the size of the country it has 536 species of birds inhabiting a wide range of habitats, but more concentrated in the reserves, wetlands, lakes and nature areas. There are many opportunities to explore on foot the reclaimed lands , the forests with their varied shades of green and the stunning parks and gardens of the country.
