We'll visit Tokyo Station to see the Shinkansen bullet trains. We'll look at representative the Shinkansen bound for six different directions: Tokaido Shinkansen, Tohoku Shinkansen, Akita Shinkansen, Yamagata Shinkansen, Hokuriku Shinkansen, and Hokkaido Shinkansen.
You must see the combination vehicle such as green “HAYABUSA” and red “KOMACHI” which are very popular among not only Japanese kids, but also adults. The connection and separation of the two Shinkansen lines is done at Tohoku stations. I will show you with a tablet movie.
We'll also get the chance to watch the 7-Minute Miracle, the term used to describe the super-speedy teams of cleaners that keep the interiors of JR East Shinkansen bullet trains spick and span for the next group of passengers. In 2016, Harvard Business School students even began to study the 7-Minute Miracle bullet train cleaners as part of their regular curriculum.
