During your stay in Paris, take a day trip to Normandy to visit the D-Day landing beaches. Upon your arrival after a scenic 2-hour train ride, you will board an air-conditioned bus that will take you to the emblematic beaches and the American Cemetery.
You will learn how D-Day, on 6 June 1944, became part of world history. During this famous maritime landing, the Allied Forces came to liberate Europe and bring peace at the cost of many lives. You will discover many commemorative memorials as well as the landing beaches, including: Utah Beach, facing the English Channel; Omaha Beach; Gold Beach; Juno Beach; Sword Beach; Arromanches-les-Bains and the vestiges of its artificial port; military cemeteries; and Pointe du Hoc. These are memorable places that bear witness to the extent of the D-Day military operations.
During this day trip, you will be able to see the tombs and the names of the soldiers who fell so that the world would be at peace again.
