Here are our top five recommendations:
• Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral: These two incredible cathedrals, the contrast with the sky and the incredible frontage inside and outside
• Temppeliaukio Church: The underground interior of the church was carved out of and built directly into the ancient solid rock of the Helsinki peninsula. In the inside, glorious natural light enters through the glazed dome.
• Seurasaari Open-Air Museum: If you want to learn about the way Finlanders lived in years gone by, this is the perfect place! It’s the largest outdoor museum in Finland and the guides are dressed in costumes demonstrating activities of daily life.
• The Market Square (Kauppatori): Try some real traditional Finnish food and buy local arts and crafts, or just enjoy walking by the open air market.
• Sibelius Monument and Park: Have a nice and relaxing afternoon activity away from the busy city while enjoying the impressive monument. Great place for photographers.
