Coral and pearls of Dubrovnik

 

They wore them on hats, braided in their hair, around a neck or waist. They used them for protection from the evil eye, to pray for conception of a child or just to show off their wealth.

Gold and silver was imported from Dubrovnik’s foreign colonies and beautiful jewelry pieces were shaped by skillful hands of numerous domestic and foreign masters and sold all over the Adriatic.
