Wachau Winter Walk

 

I designed this hike especially for the winter time, giving visitors a chance to explore the Wachau valley in the low season alike. We wander from the sleepy village of Mautern over the quaint little town of Stein to the bigger city of Krems. The medieval buildings, many churches, hidden passages and staircases give the villages a magic touch and romantic appeal.
After warming up in one of the local inns we hike back on panoramic trails through the vineyards and enjoy fantastic views on the city, the river and the surrounding hill chains.
