Hike the Highest Mountain in Lower Austria, the Schneeberg 2041m

 

Enjoy a wonderful adventure and hike with me the highest mountain in lower Austria, just one hour drive from Vienna. After we arrive at the car park we have an idyllic ride on a chairlift up to the start of the hike. Here, the for Viennese Mountaineers famous "Fadensteig" starts. An alpine hiking path which will lead us over 800 vertical meters to the Summit. Although the ascent can be strenuous, we will be rewarded with a great feeling and a refreshing drink as well with a traditional “Brett’l Jausn”. Recovered from our lunchbreak at the summit we will start the decsent. Another adventure by it self. We will hike the easier hiking path “Fadenweg” down. We will pass the so called Mountain rescue hut and hike through the magical fairytale forest from which we will reach a gravel road that will bring us back to the chairlift. Exhausted we will be happy about the support of the chairlift and about the experiences we made this day.
