Conquering the Canyon - Baerenschuetzklamm

 

The Bärenschützklamm in Styria is one of the most beautiful and impressive water-bearing canyons in Austria. Hiking through the gorge, means climbing up 51 wooden ladders and crossing 109 bridges, while conquering 350 meters of altitude. Because of its beauty and uniqueness, the Bärenschützklamm was declared a natural monument in 1978. After a well-deserved break at the hut “Guter Hirte” we make our way back to the starting point on convenient forest roads and rooty woodland trails.
